High Sheriff of Suffolk
Oliver’s love of Suffolk and his desire to help make the county a better place for all is manifested in many activities particularly his support for community groups, the local economy and with a focus on Ipswich.
He holds a Masters in environmental geochemistry which continues to inform his understanding of how to balance the pressures and pleasures of our natural environment with the needs of people. An early career as a business consultant with CapGemini working across Europe, provided a core understanding of challenging thought and achieving change.
For the last twenty years, Oliver has been at his family roots on the Shotley Peninsula where he has developed farming interests and helped establish the Suffolk Food Hall. This venture is an exemplar for local food, independent business, and collaboration.
Through his network, Oliver has helped keep the Suffolk Lieutenancy connected with the Suffolk Business Board, the King’s Awards, Greener Ipswich, Suffolk Day, the Suffolk Medals panel and other organisations.
Otherwise, Oliver and his wife Kate spend their time herding two daughters and Red Poll cattle.
